For 10 years I had suffered through daily chronic low back pain and was unable to find relief through conventional medical treatment programs. I was treated by Family Practioners, Orthopedic Physicians, Osteopaths, and Physical Therapists for years with little results. Since I went to medical school myself, I was convinced that this was the only way to solve my chronic issues. Anthony Carey has risen to become a major leader in the exercise therapy/posture alignment field. In this, his first book, he reveals some of the thinking and many of the exercises behind his breakthrough method of relieving musculoskeletal pain. As a man who has spent almost 10 years seeking relief through posture alignment therapy, I’ve come across no greater therapist than Anthony Carey and his associates at Function First. He is a true student of the musculoskeletal system, and one who refuses to stop learning and growing in his ability to treat people in pain. Get the book and if at all possible, see Anthony or one of the therapists at Function First. I can recommend no better person to help you deal with your musculoskeletal pain.

I ordered this and, while I’m a fan of other Therabeads products, I found this poorly designed. Unless you have a very thick neck, the velcro straps are worse than useless. They either get in the way or cling to the fabric cover. The only way I could get it to fit was to cross the straps in front below the neck — and then it didn’t cover the neck well.

The directions lead you to believe you must wait 2 hours or so, however, I have never had to wait. When it cools off I put it back in the microwave for up to 2 minutes. I have had and used my product for more than 4 years. It is the best for arthritis.

The velcro straps hold the pack in place while seated upright. After heating it in the microwave for two minutes, I put the cover, such as it is, on the pack and wrapped it around my neck. At first I thought it might be too hot to use but it wasn't. Actually, after putting it in place, I found that it could stand to be a MUCH warmer. I reheated it twice, each time for 30 seconds, but it could have used even more heating. I put it in place. it was warm but within 5 minutes had cooled considerably, to the point of uselessness. I am not a fan of the sectioned pack preferring instead the solid one section type. The longer I've had it on the more picky and annoying the insubstantial cover is becoming and the cooler the pack is. <br/><br/>I MUCH prefer my old microwaveable u-shaped Bucky Hotties Neckwrap over this one because it gives me greater relief for a much longer time period. I will have to order another one. This pack was one of only two options available to me at our local medical supply source. The other was a large rectangular size with no velcro. Knowing there are better heat packs available, I would definitely not purchase this one again. When I need moist heat to help with head and neck pain, I not only want something that works, I NEED something that works well and has heat lasting at least 20-30 minutes. The Duro-Med Therabeads Neck Pain Relief Pack with its adjustable velcro closure is one I am using as I type this review. The velcro straps hold the pack in place while seated upright. After heating it in the microwave for two minutes, I put the cover, such as it is, on the pack and wrapped it around my neck. At first I thought it might be too hot to use but it wasn’t.
